When I discovered the seam failing on one of my panniers my initial reaction was to start shopping for replacements.  This being an

illness I share with many of my fellow consumers.  Upon reflection I was reminded of my less liquid years and the ways I made stuff last despite damage and wear.  Hmmmm…this pannier is a lot like a backpack.  To the store for a tent repair kit.  A little seam sealer.  Some reinforced tape.  Finally, the go-to for home repair:  duct tape.

Should remain water resistant if not water proof.  Not stylish in the insane world of bicycle fashion but it works and that’s enough.  And I avoid the cost of a set of camping panniers, which are expensive.
