Purchased a simple work bench yesterday. This morning I assembled it and attached the truing stand. My status as the southern division of the Hardly Able Construction Company is intact. ”Hardly Able” was the label my sister gave the home improvement efforts that my brother-in-law and I used to attempt: measure-once-cut-twice, use gasoline to start a leaf fire, lose our minds assembling storage sheds (you know, the ones with the million screws and a hundred small sheet metal panels), etc.
Important safety tip: when selecting bolts to go through 3/4 wood you should probably select bolts longer than 3/4. Good thing Lowe’s is so close. Also important to read the instructions (or at least look at them) when assembling work benches.
Now just waiting on a couple more tools–nipple driver and tensiometer. Also need to grease threads and check centering on the truing stand. Soon – wheel healing magic in my garage.
