LAB Extension

On yesterday’s ride I explored a new route into Austin from the southeast.  I was riding in from Cedar Creek via Elroy and Burleson.  Took Montopolis to the Airport Blvd/183 bridge over the river.  The city recently extended the Lance Armstrong Sidewalk Bikeway with a paved pathway that connects the bridge sidewalk to the Cesar Chavez/5th Street split.  Despite the narrow bridge sidewalk this is a nice connection that gives cyclists an alternate river crossing to the SE.

South entrance.  Corner of Montopolis Drive and Grove Drive (looking north).

Street view on north side of bridge.  Path goes between Leavander Loop and the 7th/Airport merge (looking north).

North Entrance.  Just west of the 5th/Cesar Chavez merge (looking east).

Old Guy likes.

:D
