Morning After The Flood

Quick trip to the library — drop off and pick up.  On the way home I stopped to capture some pictures of some of last night’s torrential rain (we got about 4 inches yesterday — most of it within a two hour period).  This is a low water crossing on one of the back roads I ride to and from the library.  This stream is a tributary to Walnut Creek.  Looks like it flowed out of it’s banks by quite a bit last night.  There is still significant flow even 12 hours after the rain stopped.

Lack of common sense…

…or lack of infrastructure?  I noticed this guy walking along the tracks.  I had seen him earlier on another street and wondered where he had disappeared to.  Seems he decided to take a short cut as he was walking south.  Taking the tracks reduces his walk by at least two miles.  His other alternative is to walk along the road I was riding on.  But it has not sidewalks, shoulders and a very narrow bridge.  So I really can’t blame this guy much.  Although the earbuds and iPod are probably a bad idea.

Another random bear sighting.
